About Us
IOJI works as an independent think tank and influential ocean justice policy advocacy group, to support Indonesia in achieving sustainable and equitable ocean governance, with the objective to:
- Support the government of Indonesia in mainstreaming, implementing, and enforcing sustainable and equitable ocean governance.
- Advocate for sustainable and equitable ocean policies at local, national, regional, and international levels.
- Strengthen the network with government, academia, and civil societies at the national, regional, and international levels working on ocean issues to influence the decision-making process at every level of government to attain good and sustainable, and equitable ocean governance.
- Empower the small-scale fishermen, marginalized coastal-dependent people, and fisheries workers in defending and striving for their basic human rights.
