- ABOUT GAIN
The Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation launched at the UN in 2002 to tackle the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Working with both governments and businesses, GAIN’s mission is to advance nutrition outcomes by improving consumption of nutritious and safe food for all people, especially the most vulnerable to malnutrition.
GAIN operates in several countries around the world. In 2012, GAIN has established a country office in Indonesia and has implemented several projects such as Large-Scale Food Fortification (Cooking Oil and Salt), Maternal and Infant Young Child Nutrition, Adolescent Nutrition, Nutrition in Workplaces, Postharvest Loss Alliance for Nutrition (PLAN), and Urban Governance for Nutrition. GAIN has also conducted several research and implementation studies related to nutrition.
