Special Staff to Executive Director

Job Description

This position plays a critical role in supporting various operational, administrative, and specialized tasks within the organization. This position requires a highly adaptable and resourceful individual who can handle a wide range of responsibilities and assist in addressing the specific needs of the department. The Special Staff will work closely with bamboo village trust management and team members to ensure the smooth functioning of departmental operations.

General Responsibilities

• Assist in coordinating departmental projects, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Handle confidential and sensitive information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
• Prepare and format reports, presentations, and other documentation as needed.
• Conduct research and gather information to assist in decision-making processes.
• Serve as a point of contact between the department and external parties, including clients, vendors, and partners.
• Manage department-specific databases, files, and records, ensuring they are organized and up to date.
• Perform various tasks and special projects as assigned by department management.
• Proactively identify opportunities to improve departmental efficiency and suggest process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Forestry and Bamboo Expertise :
    – Possess a strong background in forestry, with a specific focus on bamboo cultivation.
    – Utilize a minimum of 3 years of experience in forestry, demonstrating in-depth knowledge of key people and stakeholders in the field.
    – Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in the forestry and bamboo sectors.
  2. UN Nomenclature and Communication:
    – Be well-versed in international UN nomenclature related to forestry and sustainable development.
    – Excellent communication skills to effectively convey ideas, proposals, and initiatives related to bamboo cultivation and forestry practices.
  3. Decision-Making and Networking:
    – Act as a key decision-maker for Bamboo Village Trust, utilizing expertise and wide-ranging connections in the forestry sector.
    – Utilize extensive networking skills to establish and maintain relationships with relevant stakeholders, organizations, and experts in the forestry field.
  4. NGO Experience:
    – Previous experience working in a non-governmental organization (NGO) is essential
    – Understand the workings and challenges faced by NGOs, particularly in the context of sustainable forestry and community development.
  5. Assistant to Director:
    –  Assist the director in day-to-day activities, including administrative tasks, project management, and strategic planning.
    – Act as a liaison between the director and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination.
  6. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  7.  Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in forestry, specifically bamboo cultivation, and a strong understanding of key industry players.
  8. Proven experience working in an NGO, preferably in roles related to sustainable forestry, environmental conservation, or community development.
  9. Exceptional networking skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships within the forestry sector.
  10. Proficiency in international UN nomenclature and excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  11. Strong decision-making abilities and the capacity to represent Mr. Arief Rabik effectively.
