PLAN International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. PLAN International believes in the power and potential of every child. But this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. In this case, girls are the most impacted ones. Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, PLAN strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges faced girls and all vulnerable children. We support children’s rights from birth until reaching adulthood. And, we enable children to prepare for – and respond to – crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national, and global levels using our reach, experience, and knowledge. We have been building powerful partnerships for children for over 80 years, and are now active in more than 70 countries.
Yayasan Plan International Indonesia is presently implementing its country strategic 4 (CS4) for five years covering fiscal year 2018to 2022, where the country objective has been defined as “to identify and to facilitate the removal of obstacles that prevent children from enjoying their rights and participating fully in their society”.PLAN will address five key child and youth rights issues, contributing to the implementation of the SDGs, four of which particularly affect girls and young women. The issues will be addressed through Programme Objectives anchored on the global outcome areas: Learn, Lead, Decide and Thrive. Interventions have been planned to achieve the Programme Objectives that are integrated across sectors, incorporate the three dimensions of the global Theory of Change (TOC), address climate change, and disaster risks and involve a wide range of stakeholders at all levels.
