SWISSCONTACT – We create opportunities
Swisscontact is the business-oriented independent foundation for international development cooperation. Represented in 36 countries with over 1,400 employees, Swisscontact promotes since 1959 economic, social and environmental development. In 1974 Swisscontact Indonesia started its first project in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia.
How we work
Swisscontact is committed to market development principles. The objective of our work is to introduce systemic change. To achieve impact, we use an inclusive markets approach: supporting the development of local markets improves opportunities for disadvantaged populations, whether they are producers, workers, or consumers. Through these efforts we are able to facilitate job creation and expand the market for goods and services available to poorer and under resourced segments of the population.
We make a sustained, effective contribution towards the reduction of economic disparities in an increasingly complex, globalized world.
We promote economic, social, and environmental development by helping people integrate into local economic life. We thus make it possible for them to improve their living conditions through their own initiatives.
Our Guiding Principle
Employment and income forge pathways out of poverty and into a future with real opportunities.
