About Us
Selamatkan Yaki is a conservation, education and research programme based in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. Run by Wild Planet Trust (UK) and Yayasan Kinatouan Pelestarian Alam Sulawesi (Indonesia), Selamatkan Yaki aims to protect the Critically Endangered Sulawesi crested black macaque (Macaca nigra) and its native habitat.
The programme vision is:
“Macaca nigra flourish as self-sustaining populations in their native habitat within healthy, balanced and well-protected ecosystems and are recognised as a symbol of local and national pride.”
