About Us
JIP was established based on the awareness of the importance of the involvement of people living with HIV to accommodate their needs to achieve equality over their rights, especially to health access through advocacy and collaborative work with peer support systems within the human rights framework. In 2014, around 50 people living with HIV from 21 provinces represented people living with HIV gathered in Jakarta to declare a national network organization named Jaringan Indonesia Positif (JIP) or The Indonesia’s Positive (PLHIV) Network. JIP’s vision is to visualize people living with HIV in Indonesia as healthy individuals, have the same equity and equality, to aim better quality of life, just as others living without HIV. To achieve its vision, JIP fights for the right to health of people living with HIV through peer support systems by meaningful engagement to end AIDS in Indonesia.
