Grade: Level 5 step 11 (SSA – support function)

Organizational Location: WHO Country Office – Indonesia, Jakarta

Contract type: Special Service Agreement (SSA)

Duration: 12 (twelve) months

Annual salary: In accordance with WHO Salary Scale for SSA support function at Level 5 Step 11 (IDR 14,235,250 per month)

 

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME:

To provide support to WHO Country Office in areas of data management, data analysis and their spatial representation in the context of implementation of all national programmes.

The vacancy notice serves to establish roster of Data Assistants for WHO Indonesia based in multiple locations.

 

SUMMARY OF ASSIGNED DUTIES:

Under the direct supervision of Administrative Officer (AO) and general guidance of the Respective Technical Officer, the incumbent provides the following technical and programmatic support related to data processing as follows:

  1. Compile, collect and data cleaning of respective reports from all programmes
  2. Manage and monitor the central level database
  3. Prepare and design relevant data analysis
  4. Collaborate with the counter-part and stakeholders for periodic data compilation and validation
  5. Assist in production of other data summaries, special reports, publications or other communications to meet the ongoing requirement of relevant Unit, or as required by the MOH and other professional staff
  6. Act as a liaison for data information
  7. Support Management Team and other related parties to prepare analysis related documents as needed
  8. Assist and provide support, including appropriate training to the relevant staff in managing and analyzing data.
  9. Organize the data for public access (web-based application, email/surveillance bulletin)
  10. Ensure proper safety, storage and periodic back up of all data in cloud and hard disk.
  11. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required and assigned by supervisor and senior management

Functional Knowledge and Skills:

1) Strong analytical skills to identify critical issues and knowledge of data base system, image processing, mapping, web technology, geographic information and related matters;

2) Good writing and communication skills;

3) Knowledge and practical experience of GIS software and other specialized applications as well as familiarity with the latest technological developments related to field and web applications;

4) Ability to work independently and in team setting

5) Ability to work in harmony with national/international staff of WHO and Ministry of Health

6) Ability to prepare good presentations and write clear reports.

 

Education Qualifications:

Essential: Degree in Biostatistics, /Physical /social sciences or a relevant degree with strong data analysis and management component

Desirable: Master’s degree in a relevant field with strong data analysis/management component

 

Experience:

Essential: At least 3 (three) years of solid experience in the field of data management / health information/statistics, data analyses and management; familiarity with government structure and procedures

Desirable: Experience working for UN agencies or international organizations is a plus

 

Languages:

Fluent written and spoken English (Essential)

 

Other Skills (e.g. IT):

Work is performed in normal working environment. Extensive computer skills including the specialized software; Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications; Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment; Excellent organizational and inter-personal skills; Ability to work unsupervised
