 Tanoto Foundation, a philanthropy organization founded by Sukanto Tanoto and Tinah Bingei Tanoto, seeks outstanding talent to jointly contribute in improving education quality in Indonesia.

Operating since 1981, Tanoto Foundation believes that education quality accelerates equal opportunity for people to realize their potential and improve their lives. One of our main programs is supporting the government of Indonesia in improving quality of basic education. Since 2018 we have implemented PINTAR Program or Pengembangan Inovasi untuk Peningkatan Kualitas Pembelajaran in 20 districts in Provinces of Riau, Jambi, Sumatera Utara, Jawa Tengah and Kalimantan Timur. The program aims to improve student performance through improving teacher capacity in facilitating learning  and principals in exercising leadership and school management in primary and junior secondary schools.

Currently, we plan to expand our basic education program by replicating the best practices gained from the implementation of PINTAR Program in four (4) more districts. Accordingly we invite strong candidate to apply the following positions. Operation Manager (Code: OM) – 1 person

Reporting Manager     :        Program Manager

Location                           :        Jakarta

Key Responsibilities    :

Program Implementation at National and Provincial

  1.  Supportthe program activities by delivering administrative functions related to the activity execution at national, provincial and district levels, including:
    • Staff logistics and travel
    • Program events organized at the national level
    • General HR affairs (e.g. new staff registration, annual leave, employee benefit etc)
  2. Lead the procurement of goods, logistics, and services to support program implementation including identifying suppliers, maintaining a supplier database, collecting price quotations, preparing bid analyses, releasing purchase orders to selected suppliers and monitoring the timely receipt of goods and services
  3. Review purchase agreements, contractor agreements, subcontracts, letter of agreement and other relevant documents.
  4. Provide technical assistance to operation team (Jakarta and Districts) and mentor them in implementing the program in all provinces in line with the company’s operational guidelines
  5. Ensure the availability and efficiency of goods and services to support the program implementation
  6. Design and maintain filing systems for project administrative and financial documents.
  7. Enforce standardization of operation activities among districts and review, develop, and update SOP to improve program implementation.
  8. Identify issues which may affect the implementation of the program and recommend solutions in line with the company’s policy
  9. Any other appropriate assignment or duties assigned by Management

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor Degree or similar qualification (prefer Accounting / Administrative Business)
  2. Min 8 years of experience as operation (e.g. verifying, authorizing, SOP compliance, tax regulation)
  3. Have proven experience in managing large amount of funding and high transaction volumes
  4. Excellent senses in transactional audits, high attention to details, and a problem solving mind-set
  5. Knowledge and experience in operation system and procedure application and control

Admin Officer – 4 persons (one per district)

Key Responsibilities    :

  1. Perform administrative task at provincial offices such as: control staff attendance record, collect time sheet and overtime claim for relevant staff, check Averis claim (travel doc, health claim etc.) and provide general administrative support to district activities
  2. Procure goods, services and office facilities and deal with vendors  to support program activities at provincial level (i.e. travel logistics and transports, training logistics, IT hardware and software, helpdesk, internet connection, vehicle rental etc.) with limited supervision at district level
  3. Ensuring the utilization of service, asset, and office operational activities to support programs’ implementation, including company asset’s maintenance, safety and reporting
  4. Control office tidiness, document filing, merchandise inventory and program assets/equipment at district level
  5. Providing input to improve the performance of program implementation in district
  6. Any other task requested by Management

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor degree in administration or other related fields from reputable university, preferable majoring in administration, finance or management
  2. At least 5 years of well-rounded working experience in office administration;.  Preferable having experience in large scale event, project and organization
  3. Strong administrative skills with high capacity for attention to detail, demonstrated ability to work as support team and result oriented player
  4. Knowledge and experience in operation system and procedure application and control

Senior Accountant (Code: SACC) – 1 person

Reporting Manager     :        Program Manager

Key Responsibilities    :

  1. Develop finance system and guidelines in compliance with the company’s procedure and ensure its compliance
  2. ( Manage fund granted for the program (cash request, disbursement to district, financial report) and develop the periodical financial report
  3. Develop and control the budget utilization (monthly, quarterly, semi annually and annually, including work with Program Manager to create more efficient program budget
  4.  Develop and control the budget utilization including cash flow projection and utilization at district level
  5. Perform financial audit to ensure accountability of budget utilization and be the main contact for external audit execution
  6. Support management of program in coordination with FATLC department and BE’s Operation/Finance Manager in regard of cash flow projection, financial reporting, financial system alignment, and internal control purpose
  7. Supervise accountant and provide technical assistance to district team
  8. Train program staff to comply with financial rules and procedure
  9. Any other task requested by Management

Qualifications :

  1. Bachelor Degree or similar qualification (prefer Accounting / Administrative Business)
  2. Min 8 years of experience in finance and accounting works (e.g. accounting system development, financial reporting, financial controlling, tax reporting)

Accounting Officer (Code: ACC) – 1 person

Reporting Manager     :        Senior Accountant /Finance Controller

Location                           :        Jakarta

Key Responsibilities    :

(1)    Perform duties in accounting and tax:

  1.            Prepare Payment Voucher and accounting process: journal entry, reconciliation of accounts, consolidation with field accounting and generate financial reports for budgeting purpose;
  2.            Manage database and optimize the utilization of accounting software.

                               iii.          Calculate withholding tax and monthly reconciliation with accounting record.

  1.           Identifying issues which may affect the transactions and recommending for the mitigation in line with the company’s policy
  2.            Reporting financial record within the general ledger monthly, semi-annual, and annually

(2)    Settle finance and banking transaction

  1.            Review invoice and cash advance request including. settlement of cash advance report;
  2.            Process payments through e-banking.

                               iii.          Synchronize and review all bank transaction with bank’s record

(3)    Support audit and filing

  1.            Assist internal and external audit process, especially in financial auditing.
  2.            Record all transactions (daily and periodically according to activities within national, provincial, and district level)

Key Responsibilities    :

  1. Review and/or revise TF teacher, school management and leadership training materials, or provide relevant input to accommodate the dynamic of education development
  2. Orientate other project staff in the materials and their use (team building and coaching)
  3. Develop and/or provide technical guidance for the implementation of program training at national, provincial and district level
  4. Orientate other project staff on the materials, their use and support the quality maintenance (quality control)
  5. Plan, coordinate and supervise the selection of district training facilitators jointly with local government
  6. Plan and manage training of district facilitators together with the district training specialist
  7. Support and monitor the implementation of:
  8. cluster/district level teacher, school principal and supervisor training
  9. mentoring and teacher working group activities after training
  10. Identify future training needs and coordinate activities to develop new materials to address these needs
  11. Work with other project team to optimize or strengthen the teaching and learning activities (e.g. communication team,  monitoring and evaluation team)

Qualifications:

  1. master’s Degree or equivalent in in education or other related fields.
  2. Minimum 8 years of relevant professional experience in education development sector, especially in:
    • teacher training and mentoring
    • training materials development

  5. Manage and support the activities at district level:
    • cluster/district level teacher, school principals and supervisor training, including maintain standardized training either training materials or training delivery
    • teachers and principal working group activities after training
    • mentoring activities by District Facilitators in the district
  6. Give feedback on the impact of school training and advice for future activities and improvements

Communication Specialist (Code: CS)

Key Responsibilities    :

(1)       Work under the technical direction of the Basic Education Communications Manager in Jakarta to ensure that all project communications materials (videos, modules, presentations etc.) are ready and available for provincial staff that need them and support these staff in their use

(2)       Support the development of communications materials to support national and provincial needs including:

  1. Videos of good practices developed by the program
  2. Factsheet
  3. Newsletter
  4. Human interest stories
  5. Articles for media publication and advocacy
  6. Social media content

(3)       Support and encourage staff and project beneficiaries to write stories documenting good practices for publication on the project website, in project newsletters and other publications

(4)       Work to ensure regular media coverage of the project and its impact within the province and partner districts, including preparing press hand-outs and briefing media on project activities

(5)       Work with government media and provide capacity building to government media for sustainable dissemination of best practices

(6)       Any other relevant tasks assigned by Management

Qualifications                 :

  1. Bachelors’ Degree in relevant field
  2. Minimum 3 years’ experience in working in communication affair (print and/or digital)
  3. Ability to use relevant IT programs related to video production and publishing (e.g. Corel Draw, Adobe Photoshop, In Design, Adobe Premiers and other visual communication design software)
  4. Good communications skills especially the ability to write logically and coherently
  5. Experience in the education sector would be an advantage

District Coordinator –  4 persons (1 per district)

Key Responsibilities    :

  1. Coordinate the implementation of program at district level:
  2. Liaise with local education authorities (Dinas Pendidikan) with regards to the selection local facilitators, partner schools, training, mentoring and monitoring and evaluation on program  progress
  3. Provide technical assistance to district government to ensure integration of program implementation with the district government strategy, budget and planning
  4. Organize training of trainers (TOT) for district facilitators and work with Training Specialist to mentor and evaluate the performance of the district facilitators
  5. Organize training for teachers and principals, and school supervisors and work with local facilitators to deliver mentoring to the trained teachers, principals and supervisors
  6. Develop report on the program progress at the level of district facilitators and schools level (output and outcome)
  7. Support the activation of the KKG and MGMP programs, including:
  8.          monitoring participants’ engagement and learning progress, as well as KKG/MGMP facilitators performance
  9.        Maintain good relationship with KKG/MGMP steering committee, facilitators, and all participating teachers
  10. Identify, report, and solve any issue on the field related to the implementation of program, together with Jakarta team as appropriate
  11. Monitoring & Evaluation (M&E)
  12. Visiting school/madrassa and KKG/MGMP periodically to monitor school/madrassa’s and groups progress.
  13. Collecting data regarding program implementation and impact assessment.
  14. Supporting monitoring implementation and evaluating team led by M&E team periodically.
  15. Coordination and Reporting
  16. Report program’s progress periodically to Program Manager and relevant stakeholders
  17. Report program’s financial utilization after each activity has been completed to Program Manager.
  18. Providing inputs and feedbacks to Program Manager and Management to improve program implementation and achieving targeted impact.
