Subaward for a MADANI Women Leadership Program in 32 CSOs partners
FHI 360 hereby invites participation in a Request for Applications (RFA) for a TA provider that via a subaward will deliver a Women Leadership Program to 32 selected participants from MADANI’s Lead Partners in selected districts in West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan and Banten.
MADANI is a USAID-funded project implemented by FHI 360 to strengthen local government accountability and communal tolerance in Indonesia by improving and sustaining local civil society’s capacity, legitimacy and sustainability. MADANI’s vision is to leave Indonesia a better functioning, more tolerant, and more resilient democracy, demonstrated by strengthened local democratic practices, improved local government performance and responsiveness, better accountability of frontline service delivery, and more effective and inclusive mechanisms for community-level participation and transparency.
MADANI works toward this vision by providing grants and technical assistance (TA) directly to targeted subnational civil society organizations (CSOs) in 32 districts and cities in six provinces: West Java, Central Java, East Java, South Sulawesi, West Kalimantan and Banten. MADANI works closely with these Lead Partners CSOs to (1) strengthen their organization capacity and the effectiveness and efficiency of their work; (2) improve the legitimacy of CSOs in the eyes of local government and communities; (3) bolster efforts to improve the sustainability of CSO to bring out social change through improving the enabling environment for civil society and mobilizing local resources.
MADANI mainstreams gender equality and social Inclusion (GESI). The present sub-award will advance women’s leadership within the Lead Partners by providing leadership and gender coaching to one female staff member from each of MADANI’s 32 Lead Partners for 15 months, who will become a Gender Champion and in turn promote gender concerns in their home organizations.
Detailed Description of Tasks
Through this Request for Application, MADANI will select one organization as TA Provider to deliver the Women Leadership Program to 32 selected participants from MADANI’s Lead so that they are better able to take leadership roles in their organizations, including on mainstreaming gender-sensitive operations and programming. The goal of the Women Leadership Program is that women’s leadership in MADANI’s Lead Partner CSOs is advanced, which in turn will support better implementation of a gender equity perspective in their internal organizations to strengthen their capacity, legitimacy, and sustainability.
MADANI anticipates issuing assistance over a period of 15 months. The program will be provided through a combination of online training and in-person mentoring in leadership, gender-sensitive and pro-poor analysis, community organizing and advocacy, and promoting best practice in their home institution.
