Stakeholders Engagement Coordinator

In 2022 Konservasi Indonesia (KI) and partners formally started a Jurisdictional Initiative (JI) to improve the shrimp aquaculture sector in Banyuwangi regency, East Java, Indonesia, building off a roadmap for improvement that was co-developed with local stakeholders and integrated with mangrove conservation which include preservation and restoration. Strong progress has been made against the roadmap whereas we are currently 3 years into a 5-year timeline for improvement. Leverage Climate-Smart Shrimp (CSS) aquaculture as a nature-based solution also has starting as a pilot in Banyuwangi to help adapt the impacts of climate change and promote more sustainable and equitable food systems for climate-vulnerable communities through enhancing aquaculture governance.
Our Program in Banyuwangi need to shepherd engagements with stakeholders (government, non-government, academia, local community organisation partners) from national, provincial, district to field levels. The Stakeholders Engagement Coordinator will have a broad range of tasks such as the provision of mobilization and engagement of stakeholders and acquire information from primary or secondary sources to create meaningful inputs for program implementation. Moreover, the Coordinator will be responsible for coordination with relevant district offices and key stakeholders for the establishment, mobilization and acceleration of Task Force Gugus Tugas Pengembangan Budidaya Udang berwawasan Lingkungan. Additionally, the Coordinator will also assist the Banyuwangi Fisheries Office, District Development Agency, and other district government agencies in coordinating existing partnership on sustainable aquaculture practices, support on the incorporation of aquaculture improvement roadmap in the district government policy, planning and budget. S/he will ensure seamless communication and collaboration between KI and the Banyuwangi District Government to secure the success of program partnerships
KI is hiring Stakeholders Engagement Coordinator will be working directly under supervision of Fisheries and Aquaculture Program Manager and collaboratively working with the eco-region and national program team members in Konservasi Indonesia.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and facilitate a process that enables a diverse group of stakeholders in a formal task force on shrimp development and mangrove conservation program in Banyuwangi.
- Liaise and establish good working relationship and/or strategic partnerships with key stakeholders such as national and local governments, academia, NGOs, and others to ensure the successful coordination, implementation and follow-up of project activities, as well as the mobilization of additional resources to the projects.
- Develop relevant documents and provide technical support on implement of the project activities on fisheries and aquaculture program and to liase with national and provincial governments, non-government organisations, academia and local community groups.
- Lead and provide technical support on conducted meeting, workshops, training and others related to stakeholders coordination on aquaculture and mangrove conservation program.
- Support in reviewing consultant documents (workplan, methodologies, and reports).
- Support eco-region and national projects to draft donor reports and other technical reports when necessary.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in marine, fisheries and other relevant fields with 5 years or more related experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Experience in aquaculture and mangrove conservation would be an advantage.
- Experience for preparing report and reviewing government planning documents.
- Leading skills and ability to planning and managing simultaneous and interdisciplinary tasks.
- Strong multi-stakeholder communication and networking skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with variety of skilled technical staffs, NGOs, national and sub-national government representatives.
- Excellent command of both Bahasa Indonesia and English, with proven presentation, speaking, writing and editing skills in both languages.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position will be based in Banyuwangi with periodic travel to the project site and other relevant locations.
- Ability to work outside the normal work schedule to meet project deadlines.
