Job Description
- Overall responsible for the implementation of the programme under the supervision of the Country Manager.
- Provide leadership to the Solidaridad staff and consultants spread across Kalimantan, encouraging them to build strong teams and be held accountable for their work.
- Leading organisational effectiveness by managing and developing efficient systems and processes in Kalimantan, including finance, procurement, human resources, strategic planning, accountability, performance management, facilities management, information management, systems and processes.
- Represent organisation within relevant regional, national stakeholder groups, including industry, technical and certification and standard-setting bodies.
- Develop partnerships with local and private sector partners, provincial and district governments of Indonesia programs that support smallholders and other stakeholders in producing sustainable agro commodities.
- Take a leadership role in development and the implementation of program/ project plans and activities in close coordination with program partners in post inception phase, Identify, assess and manage the risks to achieve success of the program.
- Build and maintain seamless communication with local partners and other multi-stakeholder partners on the ground (civil society, local and district governments, private sector, local and International NGOs) for ensuring project deliverables.
- Update Solidaridad head office on program progress and advise on the impacts on the ground. Responsibility will also include facilitating baseline and end line /impact assessment studies
- Operationally responsible for all program implementation of Solidaridad in Kalimantan Island.
- Conduct regular assessment of the training modules and undertake updating of the same to meet evolving technical, environmental, social and legislative requirements
- Partake in / conduct monthly operational review meetings and through calls as necessary.
- Constantly monitor field progress against target of the different partners of Solidaridad.
- Ensure all partners’ reporting requirements are met including timely submission of all partners’ reports. Working closely with the team, assist in the development, publication, industry adoption, monitoring protocol and reporting framework.
- Monitor and review all program activities, the operational budget against the contract and program agreements and supervise the implementation of the plans.
- Lead partnership development and ensure regular dialogues with local partners, communities, relevant organizations, decision makers within the program’s environment in order to enhance and maintain good working relationship.
- Develop and inspire a team to implement strategy and to achieve objectives and targets.
- Preparation of high-quality project documents and reports and serve as the technical lead in proposal development, concept notes, investment committee notes and program summaries.
- Assist with the management of donor relations (where appropriate) and actively search for, develop and secure new funding opportunities.
- Attend workshops and training programs for skill upgradation as appropriate.
- Any other responsibilities that may be assigned by Country Manager from time to time.
Job Requirements
- A minimum 15+ years of relevant experiences in international organizations/settings.
- Proven track record and high proficiency in project management across various stages of project development and implementation (initiating, planning, execution, monitoring and completion).
- Proven track record and knowledge of commodity related sustainability issues, certification schemes and working with a cross section of stakeholders.
- Proven managerial experience and experience in a technical advisory position.
- Proven presentation, fundraising and report-writing ability.
- Strong network of government, ministries and donor agencies.
- Proven record of managing a team of staff and developing them personally.
- Extensive experience of working in Indonesia.
- A Team player and able to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Cross commodity experience.
- Demonstrate professionalism towards sensitive and confidential information, to include the signing of Codes of Conduct for meetings and agreements as set-out with companies, donors and others.
- Ability to effectively deal with Senior Management and decision makers both internally and externally.
- To undertake such other duties as are commensurate with the grade of the post.
- Ability and willingness to travel extensively.
