Background of the Program
The DFAT-funded Knowledge Partnership Platform (KONEKSI) is Australia’s flagship program in the Indonesia knowledge and innovation sector. KONEKSI’s goal is to achieve an enduring relationship between Indonesia and Australia that advances mutual interest and supports Indonesia’s inclusive and sustainable development. The purpose of the program is to increase the use of knowledge-based solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies. This purpose positions KONEKSI as a vehicle to produce knowledge on complex socio-economic problems, where effective solutions are often beyond a unique sector or category of stakeholders. It will support both the knowledge to policy cycle (K2P) and the knowledge to innovation cycle (K2I), in a complementary and synergistic way. KONEKSI will focus on two End of Investment Outcomes (EOIOs):
- Australian and Indonesian organisations have increased collaboration and mutual understanding through knowledge partnerships; and
- Innovative solutions for inclusive and sustainable policies and technologies are generated by knowledge partnerships.
One of the functions of the Stakeholder Engagement Team is to provide technical assistance to the government. The objective is to foster an enabling environment that supports international collaboration in research, while creating strategic entry points for KONEKSI. Technical assistance often leads to the formation of new networks and relationships with the government. By facilitating interactions between strategic government stakeholders, researchers, and industry groups, KONEKSI promotes dialogue and exchange enhancing the utilisation and uptake for research.
The Technical Affairs Officer at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology (MoHEST) and BRIN plays a vital role in facilitating and implementing the KONEKSI program, plays a key role in facilitating and implementing the KONEKSI program, strengthening Indonesia-Australia bilateral relations. This role involves coordinating efforts between higher education institutions and research organizations to leverage the program’s outcomes for promoting inclusive and sustainable development through collaboration in education and innovation
Summary of the Position
In this role, the individual will collaborate closely with the KONEKSI Secretariat, DFAT, and various stakeholders under the supervision of the Director for Down streaming and Partnership, Director of Research and Community Services, and Director of Talent Development for Research and Development, MoHEST and Directorate of Funding Research and Innovation, BRIN. The primary responsibility is to ensure the smooth execution of KONEKSI’s initiatives by maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, project partners, and internal teams. The role involves facilitating coordination between various units within MoHEST and BRIN to ensure program alignment and enhance internal cohesion, thus streamlining planning and implementation processes.
Furthermore, the individual will support the Directorate of Research and Community Service, MoHEST and Directorate of Funding Research and Innovation, BRIN by preparing essential materials, such as brief notes, presentations, and correspondence, to assist in the successful implementation of the KONEKSI Program. The role also includes organizing meetings and events to achieve KONEKSI’s annual goals, compiling and synthesizing reports from these activities, and ensuring proper documentation and dissemination of information. This position is critical in driving the achievement of KONEKSI’s objectives and strengthening Indonesia-Australia partnerships in education and research.
Key Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Stakeholder Engagement Manager, the Program Technical Affairs Officer –
MoHEST and BRIN will be responsible for:
- Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work closely with the KONEKSI Secretariat, DFAT, and other stakeholders under the supervision of the MoHEST and BRIN to ensure effective program
- Communication Management: Maintain strong and consistent communication with stakeholders, project partners, and internal staff to ensure alignment and collaboration.
- Internal Coordination: Liaise with other relevant units within the MoHEST and BRIN to enhance program planning and implementation, fostering efficient and cohesive internal
- Material Preparation: Prepare essential materials such as brief notes, presentations, and correspondence letters as directed by the Directorate of Research and Community Service, MoHEST and Directorate of Funding Research and Innovation, BRIN to support program planning, meetings, and events.
- Meeting Coordination: Coordinate meetings and events aimed at achieving KONEKSI’s annual outputs, ensuring all logistical and content-related aspects are managed effectivelyEssential Skills.
- Reporting: Synthesize and produce concise reports on meetings and activities related to KONEKSI, ensuring accurate documentation and dissemination of information.
Job requirements
- Education: Minimum a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Development Studies, or a related field.
· Experience:
- 3-5 years of experience in program coordination, government relations, or international
- Prior experience with DFAT
· Skills:
- Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa
- Proficiency in preparing reports, presentations tailored for government or donor
- Proficiency in and coordinating meetings/events.
- Strong organizational and time-management
- Knowledge: Familiarity with Indonesia’s development policies and bilateral cooperation
