As part of the Global Sourcing team within the Projects and Portfolio unit, you will primarily assist the Director of Sourcing Operations to ensure a smooth and eloquent operation of global project sourcing flows, processes, document handling, database management, as well as coordinating with different teams on various tasks and activities. Additionally, you will support business development and project sourcing related activities in Southeast Asia region. This includes tasks such as researching new project leads, drafting procedural documents, client/project owner follow up, attending meetings or events relevant to sourcing, undertake data collection for eligibility assessments, financing plans and budgets, as well as conducting due diligence processes under the guidance of the Sourcing team and the lead for Southeast Asia. This role is a combination of business development, project analysis, and stakeholder engagement. This is a role with exciting opportunities and unique challenges, are you ready for them?

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support global project sourcing operations activities for carbon credits and possibly other environmental market products offered by South Pole
  • Ensure that sourcing flows and processes (including documentation and interaction with other teams) is in line with the company guidelines
  • Manage and maintain global sourcing database, ensuring that information regarding project leads and opportunities are well recorded and updated
  • Support coordination and collaboration with other teams within South Pole globally in regards to project leads and opportunities
  • Support Sourcing Lead for Southeast Asia in the efforts to source new project leads and opportunities in the region
  • Conduct research relevant to new project leads, project developers, project owners, relevant regulatory regimes/policies in Southeast Asian countries
  • Collect and research relevant data related to land use projects, including afforestation/reforestation, reduced deforestation, ecosystem conservation/protection, sustainable agriculture and ecosystem restoration (e.g. mangroves, peat, mineral forests)
  • Collect data from Project Owners or other third party for due diligence, financing plans and budgets, technical, financial and legal documentation
  • Attend meetings, seminars, workshops and/or events that are relevant for sourcing team activities

Your profile

  • University degree in Environmental Science, Economics, Business Administration, Law, or any other relevant discipline
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
  • Sound understanding in operations, knowledge/database management and business development
  • Experience and interest in people engagements and networking
  • Experience in project screening and budgeting/financing
  • Basic knowledge in Agriculture, Forestry, and Land Use (AFOLU) projects
  • Familiarity with carbon credits, carbon standards and carbon project development
  • Comfortable in working with an international and multicultural team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, as well as Google Suite
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English
  • National/valid permit holder to work in Indonesia
