Junior Researcher
(Secondment Program)
6 months contract : February – August 2025
The Junior Researcher will support the Indorelawan pilot project focused on organizational capacity building : Secondment Program. This role involves qualitative research, with a primary focus on gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing data related to civil society organizations (CSOs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Strong qualitative research skills; experience in conducting interviews, literature reviews, and thematic analysis.
- Proficiency in English, both academic writing and spoken communication.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize data and develop insightful, evidence-based conclusions.
- Basic quantitative research competence is preferable but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with organizational capacity and capacity building concepts for civil society organizations.
- Experience working with CSOs or in capacity-building initiatives.
- Knowledge of systems thinking and theory of change frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Methodology Development: Assist in refining research methodologies.
- Literature Review: Undertake comprehensive reviews of existing literature, reports, case studies, and other relevant sources.
- Ethical Clearance: Manage the ethical clearance process.
- Qualitative Research: Conduct in-depth interviews, focus groups, and fieldwork.
- Data Analysis: Analyze qualitative data to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to CSO capacity gaps and needs.
- Workshop Facilitation: Assist in the planning, coordination, and facilitation of participatory workshops involving multiple stakeholders to develop and validate program design elements.
- Report Writing: Assist drafting of inception reports.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Support the organization and facilitation of engagement with key stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the project Monitoring, Evaluation, and Research Manager, Team Leader, and Indorelawan team members to ensure the research aligns with project goals and timelines.
Selection Process
The candidate will undergo several steps: CV screening, pre-interviews, interviews, and mini-tests.
