Sector: accounting and financial administration
Misereor is an institution founded by the German Episcopal Conference that supports development projects carried out by ecclesial entities, non-governmental organisations, cooperatives and grass-root organisations in Africa, Asia and Latin America. The support is not limited to providing financial means to carry out projects, but extends to consolidating the administrative structures and performance of the counterpart entities, as required for our cooperation.
In order to strengthen our Indonesia counterparts in the financial management and accountability, we require a professional according to the following profile:
- Academic formation in administration, finance and accounting
- Solid work experience and knowledge in the areas of financial administration and accounting
- Experience in dealing with NGOs
- Good pedagogical and methodological capacities to transmit knowledge
- Very good capacity for verbal and written expression in English and Bahasa Indonesia
- Willingness to travel regularly throughout the country
Work area:
- Counseling to entities supported by Misereor in Indonesia (Church-based and secular NGO). The advice covers accounting issues (eg. Use of the chart of accounts, financial reporting, knowledge of computerized accounting programs), internal control, accountability, budget monitoring, material and human resources, legal tax- and labor issues
- Compliance with the project contract signed with Misereor/KZE
- Facilitation of Misereor’s/KZE’s rules and regulations which are important during the implementation of the project
- Preparation of reports on the advice provided and be sent to counterparts and to Misereor
- Conduction of trainings and workshops on the above-mentioned aspects
- Specific dialogue with the audit companies recommended by Misereor
- Advice and support to Misereor regarding improvement and adaptation to local needs in Indonesia
Misereor will coordinate the consultancies based on a pre-established agenda
We offer:
- A freelance contract in a first phase of three years (including a “trial” period of 12 months)
- Adequate remuneration based on standard tariffs
- An occupancy period of approximately 100 days per year (including travel and preparation time before and after the consultancy)
- Up to two-weeks technical training in Germany as a preparation for working as a consultant
