Program Summary
The Mercy Corps Indonesia Finance and Compliance Department is responsible for all financial functions, including accounting, payments and banking, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and grant financial management and compliance. The Mercy Corps Indonesia Finance & Compliance Department ensures compliance with donor regulations as well as Mercy Corps’ internal policies and procedures. In its role as a support to the Program Department, the Finance Department provides timely reports and assistance to the Country Director and the Program team to ensure that financial resources are used efficiently and effectively.

Finance and Admin Officer (FAO)
General Position Summary
Finance and Admin Officer is working in under the direction of the Finance & Admin Manager, the Finance & Admin Officer will support the day-to-day financial activities, filing, banking until financial reporting preparation within Finance and Compliance Department of Mercy Corps Indonesia.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Prepare bank, cash and journal voucher, based on verification of expense report, travel advance and any other calculation made by supervisor.
- Update accounting system on daily basis through import journal or direct journal entry and ensure accuracy of GL code, cost center and any other expenditure information needed to provide donor report and statutory report (tax and yayasan).
- Conduct monthly petty cash counts.
- Withdraw cash from the bank as authorized by management. Update daily and monthly bank balances and prepare monthly bank reconciliation.
- Maintain advance cash advance tracking report and ensure its updated and monitored, by circulate reminder to the staffs who has outstanding overdue balance, on monthly basis.
- Archive all financial documentation correctly and properly on a timely basis.
- Assist in preparing invoices between Mercy Corps Indonesia and partners/donors on a timely basis to ensure good collection of funds.
- Assist the supervisor in preparing monthly tax and/or monthly financial report.
- Assist the supervisor review and import cashbooks from field offices.
- Liaise with the banks to update any changes to payment authorities any administration document changes.
- Adhere to Mercy Corps systems for internal control, compliance, accounting data processing and finance reporting functions following donor regulations.
- Assist in ensuring the proper management and control of consumable and non-expendable inventory in compliance with Mercy Corps and donor property control standards.
- Report non-compliance or poor performance of Mercy Corps internal control and financial policies to the Finance Manager.
- Ensure transparency, integrity, and high accountability of all transactions, by following all Mercy Corps financial guidelines and fully understanding the structure of chart of account, cost center and donor reporting code.
- Ensure strict confidentiality and physical security of all financial and other internal information.
- Work very closely with field finance/compliance officer of any compliance/finance related issues
Knowledge and Experience
- Fresh graduate is strongly preferable.
- One- or two-years apprenticeship experience is also considerable.
- A university degree in finance, accounting or a related business field is required.
- Prior experience with computerized general ledger software.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel and pivot table.
- Strong analytical skills coupled with a solid understanding of accounting cycles.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
