Events and Media Engagement Manager will be part of Konservasi Indonesia’s national communications team to deliver and implement Konservasi Indonesia’s communications strategy and plan. This position will be responsible for managing external and internal communications of Konservasi Indonesia, including event management, media engagement, and internal communications. This position may supervise external consultants or interns as necessary (i.e., media monitoring, etc).



Events and Media Engagement Manager will be responsible to manage internal and external communications of Konservasi Indonesia. This position will be working closely with the national communications team and program team in developing content for external communications, as well as working with HR and Operations for internal communications (as necessary).


  1. Events: In collaboration with communications and operations teams to manage the implementation of events in KI. The works include but not limited to:
    • Develop and prepare plan of events from start to finish according the vision and mission of KI, target audience, and objectives,
    • Develop ideas, budget plans, sources to strengthen the success of the events,
    • Manage the process of negotiating with vendors and/or relevant partners to support the implementation of the events,
    • Be responsible for hiring event support personnel (i.e., note taker, translator, zoom operator, etc),
    • Make sure all aspects are in accordance with the objectives of the events,
    • Manage and supervise the implementations of the events on the D-Day,
    • Collaborate with strategic communications and branding teams to prepare communication material in accordance with the event, including to publish the events broadly (i.e., Press Release, flyer, banner, backdrops, etc),
    • Monitor, analyze and evaluate the implementation process as well as prepare event reports.


  1. Media Engagement: Manage the plans, processes and implementations of all activities related to mass media in international, national and ecoregion levels. The works include but not limited to:
    • Manage the Implementations of Konservasi Indonesia’s media engagement plan align with KI’s communications strategy, in collaboration with the communications team at international, national, and provincial/district level,
    • Review and monitor media inquiries and materials for media created by the communications team at the province/district level, to ensure alignment with the institutional narrative and compliance to the KI’s communications protocol,
    • Manage national events and media engagement to support the national amplification strategy of KI’s projects,
    • Coordinate regular update of KI’s media database and strengthen network with national and provincial/district media through regular media engagement, including regular media gathering, etc,
    • Liaise with the communications team of Conservation International at HQ and APFD office for international communications activities aim to support KI’s projects amplification strategy to international audience,
    • Produce media monitoring report per month (working with external service as necessary) with editorial value.



  • Ensure compliance with Konservasi Indonesia’s brand guide and communications protocol.
  • Ensure compliance with Konservasi Indonesia’s procurement policies.
  • Travelling to field sites or outside Jakarta office, as required to support the production of external communications materials r events.



  • Bachelor’s degree in communications or social science, with minimum of eight (8) years of experience in event management and media engagement.
  • Strong understanding about environmental issues in Indonesia, familiar with media landscape in country, and able to design strategic media engagement plan to support achieving positive impacts for the environment.
  • Strong experience in content development on environmental issues for social media, both in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
  • Good network with national/local media in Indonesia and familiar with various media engagement activities, including but not limited to media visit, press conference, media briefing, 1:1 interview, etc.
  • Strong experience in producing various external communications materials and media kit, including newsletter, press release, media kit.
  • Experience in managing internal communications activities and platforms.
  • Team player, able to work with people with different cultures and backgrounds
