Child Health Coordinator – Bogor District 149 views

In coordination and collaboration with key stakeholders, Jhpiego is planning to implement a model for primary health care (PHC) in Bogor District that demonstrates the effectiveness and feasibility of client- centered, continuous and coordinated care, using child health as an entry point. Over the course of three years, Jhpiego will work with stakeholders from the community to national levels and provide technical assistance for the success of this model. By the end of the project, Jhpiego aims to provide a scalable prototype for PHC that could be expanded to additional districts and disease areas. Beyond the project period, Jhpiego expects these efforts to contribute to reduced child morbidity and mortality due to infectious diseases. Jhpiego seeks a Child Health Coordinator who will provide technical support for an Primary Health Care Project in Bogor-District, Indonesia. He or she will work closely with the Health Specialist and Program Manager on the day-to-day implementation, reporting, and monitoring of the project. The Child Health Coordinator will play a significant role in conducting advocacy and ensuring that the project is implemented in accordance with required quality and health standards.


Leadership & Managerial

  • Support the Health Specialist in advocacy and technical side of program (developing national module, training, monitoring)
  • Support the Program Manager and field officers to successfully implement project workplan according to technical guidance and standards

Program Management / Monitoring & Evaluation

  • Support Program Manager in workplan development (and modification, if needed) and conducting program reviews
  • Co-lead technical capacity building of project team
  • Lead technical capacity building for Puskesmas, community health workers, and other relevant partners in coordination with Senior Program Manager
  • Provide timely progress updates and report inputs to Program Manager
  • Monitor program implementation and provide feedback
  • Involved in develop local policy (Governer, Regent, Region)

External Engagement

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with relevant stakeholders especially at the district and sub-district levels

Internal communication

  • Join regular meetings and coordinate with program and operations staff to ensure that all technical aspects are incorporated into implementation activities
  • Build and maintain coordination with the relevant staff to support success of the project
  • Coordinate with technical support staff in home office


  • Bachelor degree in public health ( advance degree preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years working experience
  • Experience working in child health program and strong knowledge of the technical area, including knowledge of child health guidelines
  • Strong knowledge of Indonesian primary healthcare system and experience working with/in it
  • Experience working in the area of community engagement and health promotion
  • Experience working with Posyandu, Puskesmas/health facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Written and oral fluency in English
