Jhpiego is an international, non-profit health organization affiliated with The Johns Hopkins University. Jhpiego works with health experts, governments and community leaders to provide high-quality health care for their people. Jhpiego develops strategies to help countries care for themselves by training competent health care workers, strengthening health systems, and improving delivery of care.  Jhpiego is currently implementing two USAID-funded projects in Indonesia – MCGL and MPHD.

 

Jhpiego seeks a Cervical Cancer Prevention (CECAP) Senior Project Manager to manage and oversee the design, implementation, coordination, and monitoring and evaluation of a CECAP implementation research project in Surabaya.  This CECAP project is one of the implementation research efforts being implemented under the USAID-funded MCGL program, in support of the Indonesia Ministry of Health’s primary health care vision and strategy.

 

Reports to:

  • Chief of Party, MCGL/Jakarta

 

Supervises:

  • Senior CECAP Technical Specialist/Surabaya
  • CECAP MEL Specialist/Jakarta

 

Location:

  • Jakarta

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the planning, management, coordination and financial control of project activities
  • Work collaboratively with finance/admin team to prepare and track the progress of project and activity budgets
  • Monitor activity implementation and manage project operations
  • Lead regular meetings and coordination with CECAP and MCGL program staff involved with this initiative both at national and subnational levels
  • Build and maintain coordination with the relevant national and provincial staff to support success of the project
  • Actively engage with key partners at national level (e.g., Ministry of Health, development partners, professional organizations, etc.) to keep them updated on project progress and to seek guidance
  • Document successes, lessons learned and challenges in implementation; contribute to the analysis, synthesis, and reporting of project outcomes and results; and prepare and contribute to timely semi-annual and annual reporting of project activities as needed
  • Ensure project operations are in alignment with USAID and Jhpiego organizational policy and procedures
  • Escalate issues to COP as appropriate
  • Represent the project interests in public and professional circles through meetings, conferences, and presentations
  • Deliver any other task as assigned by supervisor

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working at a similar level and with a similar scope of work
  • Experience with CECAP programming preferred
  • Experience in designing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating donor-funded health projects in Indonesia
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Indonesian health system and Indonesia’s national-level policies, guidelines, and strategies, especially related to CECAP
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement efficient and effective program management processes and systems
  • Demonstrated experience effectively managing project reporting processes
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills, including report writing and dissemination
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally
  • Written and oral fluency in English
  • Willing to take on extra responsibilities in order to achieve the goals/objectives set by the organization
