Plan International is an independent agency and humanitarian organization that promote child rights and girls’ equality. Plan International Indonesia Foundation (YPII) is a Part of Plan International that works also to empower youth through its Youth Employment and Entrepreneurship Program. As part of it works, Plan Indonesia focus on building more inclusive enabling environment for youth to thrive. With focus on young women and youth with disability, Plan Indonesia collaborate with various stakeholder in improving the support for young women and youth with disabilities in the economic sphere in the context of employment and entrepreneurship. In addition to that, Plan Indonesia also take an effort to improve its YEE team capacity in delivering program that inclusive for young women and youth with disability, in a hope for greater impact to the livelihood of the young people that is being served.
Align with the objectives, Plan Indonesia currently is working with Companies Association to refine its gender parameter as a tool guide for company to adopt gender equality practices. Activities that had been agreed comprises of the refinement of the parameter, the need assessment of companies on the support needed to start or improve the practices, and the development of supporting tools or the establishment of GESI desk in the institutions that will cater the support needed for company member that express an interest in adopting GESI practices. Other than that, collaboration with other stakeholder on the creation of Gender Modules for MSMEs and its implementation also included in priority activities in this time period.

YPII will also provide basic facilities for working at the office, internet connection while working in the office.
VII. Key Principles, Approach and Ethical Consideration
Plan Indonesia Staff and consultant must adhere to Plan International Child and Youth Safeguarding and Protection. In this context, Plan Indonesia shall request for the Consultant, during the contract period, to conduct risk analysis for any activities involving children and young people. Mitigation plan to ensure children and young people participating in the activities during the contract period safe and protected. Liaising with Plan Indonesia’s Safeguarding Focal Point for consultation is expected for developing the risk analysis and mitigation. Plan Indonesia is committed to also provide training for the consultant in this issue.
The consultant must follow Ethical Principles for involving human subjects in a research and obtain written/ verbal consent from the human subjects. Permission from elder must be sought if the children
under 18 years are involved as subjects. Signed informed consent of each child and his/her parents need to take after explaining purpose of the study and its usage.
All the projects managed by Plan Indonesia and is partners, should also aligned with Plan International global ambition to reach 100 million girls, using gender transformative approach in delivering its tasks. In this assignment, the Consultant is expected to apply gender transformative approach through addressing gender norms, strengthening girls’ and young women’s agency, advancing girls’ and women’s condition and position, working with boys and men to embrace gender equality, responding to the needs and interest of girls and boys in all their diversity, and fostering an environment that enables gender equality and girls’ rights.
VIII. Required experience and qualifications
- Bachelor degree, preferably majors in social study or anything relevant
- At least 3 years’ experience in gender and inclusion, both in employment and entrepreneurship sector
- Demonstrate experience in developing tools for GESI mainstreaming with stakeholder (e.g assessment companies, modules for companies/MSMEs, etc)
- Understand basic principle of conducting research, and have experience in developing simple research tools on GESI, as well as conducting analysis and report writing
- Experience in creating tool guide for GESI implementation in companies
- Having experience in establishing GESI desk in an institution will be an added value
- Able to communicate in English and Bahasa Indonesia
